Recent research from the University of Jerusalem confirms that taking elderberries sped healing time for colds. The extract may shorten flu by as much as 3 days. Use the extract or make a tea with the natural elderberry flowers. There can be side effects of too much if you get nausea, vomiting and if you have autoimmune issues, avoid this remedy and go for the others listed.
Homemade chicken soup is an old time cure for reducing cold and flu symptoms. Remember, you must boil the chicken all day until the marrow has been melted from the bones. This marrow may be the key to quick recovery. Add parsley, carrot, celery, garlic and other spices to taste.

ORANGES!
Fresh orange juice or oranges can speed recovery. It's the natural vitamin C.

GINGER!
Upset tummy? Boil two tablespoons of grated fresh ginger in two cups of water for fifteen minutes, remove from the heat and steep for ten minutes. Drink as needed.

PEPPERMINT!
Is also good for upset tummy, headache and cold and flu symptoms. Use fresh or dried peppermint in a tea. (Did you know if you spritz peppermint around the home it deters spiders and bugs?)
To increase immunity, and speed recovery, follow these health tips: 1. Avoid dairy products and fried foods.
2. Avoid sugar, soft drinks, artificial sweeteners, and food additives.
3. Drink a minimum of one quart of liquid a day. 4. Stay warm. 5. Rest.
